Broncos Acquire Former Patriots and Raiders Quarterback

The Denver Broncos have reportedly agreed to terms with quarterback Jarrett Stidham on a one-year deal, according to multiple sources. Stidham will serve as the backup quarterback to Russell Wilson, who is entering his second season in Denver.

Stidham, 27, has spent the past two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, backing up Derek Carr. He played in three games for the Raiders in 2022, completing 65.5% of his passes for 518 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions.

Stidham was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent the 2019 season on injured reserve and then served as Tom Brady's backup in 2020. He played in one game for the Patriots in 2020, going 4-of-11 for 38 yards.

Stidham is a mobile quarterback who can make plays with his legs as well as his arm. He is expected to compete with Josh Johnson for the backup quarterback job in Denver.
